Bills Crippling UK Tax PayersUK families are finding it harder and harder to maintain their quality of life. With increases pending in council tax, fuel bills (petrol, deisel, gas and electricty), and tax rises from the last budget now filtering into monthly expenses the outlook is gloomy for many.
The UK is the most expensive place in the world to run a car, UK residents pay more in road tax and other car related taxes than all their European cousins. Fuel duty and tax make up more than 75% of the cost of a litre of fuel. And so for every £1 spent on fuel around 75p goes to the treasury in the form of VAT and fuel duty. With Gordon Brown's fuel escalator this figure is increasing each year! The governments failure to suspend the fuel duty escalator and lack of pressure on the fuel companies to price according to the true cost of fuel, effects every aspect of the economy. High fuel prices are reflected in the increased cost of food and food production, and the cost of consumer goods, due to the higher transport costs. The general cost of living seem's to keep on rising for UK families. If we don't raise our concerns now the price of fuel is going to carry on rising, along with other bills please sign up to the TaxedEnough.org.uk campaign. |
